HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011!!!
Greetings ALL!!! Happy New Year, I hope you enjoyed the holiday season. It’s always good to be around loved ones and reflect on the good and the CHALLENGES of the past year. What do you intend for the coming year??? Weight loss; find love, new career, volunteer, more money??? All of these are great goals to have, but the commitment behind achieving these goals is where most of us, including myself, fall short! Why is that? We all want to achieve, we all want better or to give back, but what keeps us from implementing the tasks necessary to “Get ‘er done”? The answer is FEAR/COMFORT ZONE (which ever you are more comfortable with).
We all have developed habits throughout the years, good or bad. Smoking, drinking, health habits, communication habits, etc. These habits create our comfort zone ANYTHING outside of that causes FEAR on some level. But what we need to realize is how we develop our habits and use that to make our reach our goals. When we are in school and/or work we are in the habit of waking up at a certain time, going to bed at a certain time, doing homework, executing daily tasks to accomplish our employers goals; a lot of time not in a pleasurable state but under stressful circumstances. Why do we put such great effort toward maintaining these habits…FEAR!!! We tend to ACT in FEAR instead rather than ACT in POWER!!!
Here’s the SECRET to MAKING IT HAPPEN for you in 2011 and beyond.
1) Take time to DECIDE what it is you want to accomplish in 2011.
2) Find people that have already accomplished your goal and connect with them. How did they start? What challenges did they face? How did they stick with it? etc.
3) put together an ACTION PLAN (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly) with the END RESULT already laid out.
4) Be accountable!!! Who will be affected by you accomplishing or not accomplishing these goals? Put it on the line, go public!!!
5) Celebrate small successes!!! Don’t wait for the END RESULT to celebrate. Remember it’s the journey that shapes you. As you move closer towards the goal take time to acknowledge your progress. (I.e. end result is a new career, end of week 1 celebrate signing up for a new course or revamping your resume). Keep the PASSION!!!
6) KEEP A SENSE OF URGENCY!!! Now is the time, there is NO TOMORROW!!! Don’t wait, get started TODAY!!! There will be no “better time” to start. You may not have the money, resources or any other excuse you can think of, but START TODAY!!!
Others have started with far less than you and have accomplished GREAT things. You have the same ability!!!
Go START TODAY!!!
To YOUR SUCCESS,
